The Spectacle Of Visual Arts
Theatre or theatrical performance is a collective form of presenting visual art or performing arts that uses live actors, normally actors or actresses, to portray an imagined or even a real event before an audience at a specified location, sometimes a stage, in a theatre. It is generally performed by a single actor who performs with full attention and dedication to his character. Although most theatre or theatrical performances are performed by a single performer, there are some that include several actors playing different characters in different roles. Theatre is sometimes described as a form of theatre or drama. Since many people associate the word theatre with stage plays, a more apt term for theatre is dramatic presentation.
This genre of theatrical performance has evolved over time to include musical presentations, theatrical presentations, and more artistic presentations like films. The word “theater” is not usually associated with film, although many theatres today have a screening room or screening area for movie screenings. Many theaters have started screening movies on television instead of in an actual theatre. Some theatres have a concession stand outside their theatre that sells popcorn and other snacks, and many even use concession stands outside their theatres to provide food and beverages to the patrons. For the more upscale theatre, food and beverages are available for the patrons to take home with them, but for a budget-conscious theatre, food and beverages are generally provided outside of the theatre and served directly from a vending machine.
The history of theatre is quite interesting. Early theatre was a very simple thing. The first modern theatre was constructed over a thousand years ago in China, and it had only one actor and no audience. This is the reason why the term “modern theatre” is sometimes used instead of the more familiar term “theatre”. At first, the only way to see a theatre performance was to travel with a group of people, and when the first major theatre companies began traveling in the nineteenth century, the term theatre became increasingly popular. During the twentieth century, the theatre became an essential part of everyday life for most people.
